What to do if we find wet mats and carpets full of water

In this video we see a situation that can happen on any car model, and it is very unpleasant: after a heavy rain we find the carpet and mats soaked with water and we cannot understand why. Furthermore, if they do not dry, the car will take on a terrible moldy smell that will make it extremely unpleasant. Besides various reasons (open window, seals that do not hold, and so on) we can suggest this hypothesis: water enters from the windshield wiper compartment that is clogged. Therefore, we will have to remove the brushes, remove the protective grille and once we have found the stagnant water, let it drain using a long screwdriver, as we see in the video example.
