How does the intake manifold pressure sensor (or MAP sensor) work?

The intake manifold pressure sensor is also known as the MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure), which is responsible for measuring the air inside the engine's intake manifold. This measurement is crucial for the engine's electronic control unit (ECU) to determine the amount of air entering the engine. In fact, based on this information, the ECU regulates fuel injection to ensure the best air/fuel ratio for efficient combustion. When the engine is idling or at low speeds, the pressure in the manifold is low (high vacuum); when the engine accelerates, the throttle valve opens and the pressure in the manifold increases. The MAP sensor converts these pressure variations into an electrical signal that is sent to the ECU, which uses it to calculate the amount of fuel needed for combustion.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after.
