Let's focus on the MAP sensor, which measures absolute pressure directly in the manifold. On the scanner, the pressure is read in kPa or bar (the conversion is decimal, so very simple: 1 kPa corresponds to 0.01 bar); symptoms of failure include evident problems at low revs, with irregular slowdowns and stalling. It gets dirty due to oil vapours passing from the crankcase ventilation system. The MAF sensor is located between the air filter and the throttle body, measuring the airflow towards the latter, and is read in g/s (grams per second): failure manifests as a loss of power under load, such as during acceleration or uphill, and it gets dirty due to dust and particulates that pass through the air filter.
