In this video, we see how to diagnose whether the problem with our car, where the engine runs regularly, is a faulty battery or an alternator that is not charging. The YouTuber suggests a simple method to determine the issue. We try to start the vehicle with cables; once the vehicle is started, we loosen the positive terminal, and with the engine running, we remove the positive cable from the battery. If the engine stops, then the problem is a faulty alternator and it needs to be replaced. If the engine continues to run, then the issue is with the battery, and it is the battery that needs to be replaced. This is an empirical method. Of course, we can always check the voltage with a voltmeter; the voltage should increase as the engine speed increases, otherwise it means that the alternator is faulty.
