How is a starter motor made and how does it work?

In this video we see how a starter motor is made and how it works: specifically, it is a 1.3 MultiJet engine, but in practice they do not vary much from each other. It is composed of the actual motor, the solenoid (which is an electromagnet), and a gear part, which rotates the motor. By turning the key, we send current through the solenoid coil. This moves the gear, which positions itself on the flywheel. At the same time, the starter motor engages and begins to rotate, giving rotation to the flywheel. In the back there are the "brushes", which are carbon brushes that carry current to the starter motor, then there is the rotor that moves the wheels that give movement to the gears. The solenoid has a button inside that rotates the motor only when the gears are correctly positioned, to avoid breakages. Electrically, the starter motor is ground, meaning it is the negative side of the circuit itself.
