The oil pressure sensor, also known as the "oil pressure bulb", is used to monitor the oil pressure inside the engine and to alert the driver in case of anomalies; if the oil pressure drops below a certain critical level, the sensor sends a signal to the engine control unit, which in turn, lights up the oil warning light on the dashboard, allowing the driver to stop the car and prevent serious damage to the engine, due to insufficient lubrication. Normally this component is located near the oil filter, but in some models it can be positioned on the upper base or directly on the engine block. It should be cleaned periodically, especially after it has reported anomalies, and this can be done by unscrewing it from its seat and lubricating it with a good dose of WD-40 and then drying it well with a microfiber cloth.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level.
