How to adjust the beam of light of our car headlights on our own

Let's see how to adjust the front light beam of the car. First, remove any unnecessary weight from the trunk and the cabin, so that the car has a normal balance. Park on a flat surface and stabilize the suspension: measure the height from the ground of the center of each headlight, to ensure they are both at the same height. Turn on the low beams and bring the car close to the wall; mark the brightest point in the center of each beam with a piece of tape. Draw a horizontal line using a level; if the two points are not at the same height, use the height of the lower headlight as a reference, and lower the other mark to align them. This line represents the maximum height the light beam should reach. Move the car straight back: the correct distance is 7.5 meters (25 feet). Now observe the headlights on: the brightest points should be slightly below the horizontal lines we marked, and symmetrical. Open the hood and find the adjustment screws on the back of each headlight, one vertical and one horizontal; for more precision, cover the other headlight with a cloth, so you only see the beam of the one you are adjusting.
