How to Check and Top Up the Engine Oil Level in Your Car

This guide shows how to check and top up the engine oil. The first step is to stop and secure the car on a flat surface. At this point, wait a few minutes for the oil to drain from the engine. For this operation, you need to obtain the same type of oil already present in the engine. Open the bonnet and secure it, then locate the dipstick: some cars have the traditional dipstick while others have it included in the oil filler cap. Check the oil level by cleaning the dipstick and reinserting it into its housing. Unscrew the oil filler cap and, using a funnel to avoid spills, top up small amounts of oil and recheck the level until the correct amount is reached.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after.
