Before a car journey, it is advisable to check the engine oil level in the oil reservoir. To check the level, open the bonnet and lift the dipstick from the oil reservoir.

Clean the dipstick and reinsert it, then pull it out again. Now check that the oil level is between MIN and MAX. If it is below MIN, top it up; if it is above MAX, you need to remove the excess by opening the oil sump or using a small pump to extract the oil from the reservoir.
