How to Replace an Oxygen Sensor in Your Car

In this video tutorial, see how to replace an oxygen sensor in your car by following some simple steps: first, lift the car using a hydraulic jack and position safety stands; remove the heat shield covering the manifold. Now, heat the engine to operating temperature to make it easier to unscrew the oxygen sensor. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery; unplug the sensor connector. Use a socket and extension to unscrew the oxygen sensor, turning it counterclockwise. Apply a special high-temperature lubricant to the threads of the new sensor. Screw the sensor in by hand and tighten it using a torque wrench. Clean the connector pins with a special spray. Connect the sensor to the connector and secure it with cable ties. Reinstall the heat shield and reconnect the battery.
