Modern vehicles use adjustable oil pumps that provide oil as needed while saving fuel for engine lubrication. The animation shows how a variable oil pump operates, automatically regulating the flow (via the supply pressure) based on the oil demand. The impeller type is vane, and the adjustment occurs automatically according to the oil flow. When the engine is cold, there will be a rapid supply to the lubrication points, while during normal operation, the flow will adapt to the engine's requirements.
