The start-stop system detects when the car stops and determines, thanks to its sensors, a whole series of other factors relating to the operating state of the car. If the driver stops at a traffic light and shifts into neutral, the start-stop system shuts down the engine. On the dashboard of the cars that are equipped with it, there is a control marked with the A symbol with a circle around it and the word off below. To disable this system it is necessary to press this button, and it is useful to do it for example when the battery is flat. However, by default the system is active.

How do you replace the battery of the BMW R 1250 GS?

In order to replace the battery of the BMW R 1250 GS it is necessary to loosen the bolts that secure the casing positioned on the left side of the bike, so that its cover can be removed. Once this has been removed, you will be able to access the components below, including the battery. The latter must be removed from its housing by disconnecting the power cables and unscrewing the appropriate fixing bolts. In this way it will be possible to insert a new battery, properly fixing it and connecting it to the relative cables, covering everything with the casing.
