The START&STOP system was designed and installed on vehicles solely for the purpose of reducing CO2 emissions. The system automatically turns off the engine when the vehicle is stopped, such as when waiting at a traffic light. However, many drivers fear that this system may damage the engine and therefore deactivate it using the appropriate button, usually located on the central dashboard. This action is not permanent, so today we will explain how to permanently deactivate the system. The first method we recommend for deactivating the system is to remove the cable that connects the sensor to the battery. The second method is to connect a diagnostic computer to the vehicle and deactivate the system by modifying the control unit. The third method is to install a buffer memory, a cable that connects to the vehicle's onboard computer and the Start&Stop button, which will store the system shutdown in a durable manner over time.
