How to Check the Radiator Fluid Level

The first step is to lift the bonnet and secure it with the prop rod. You can recognise the radiator reservoir as it is transparent, allowing you to check the fluid level. It is very important not to overfill the reservoir, as this can cause serious damage over time and may lead to the reservoir breaking. The fluid heats up, and the steam that cannot escape can cause significant issues; therefore, always fill the reservoir between the maximum and minimum levels. When you need to add fluid to the reservoir, ensure the car is cold, as the fluid inside may be very hot and you risk burning yourself. Always check the fluid level with the engine off and the car cold. When you unscrew the cap, do it slowly to release the pressure inside; it is advisable to use a piece of paper to avoid burns.
