Model: (Various brands) Various
Part: Gearbox
Operation: How CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) Works

The CVT gearbox (continuously variable gearbox) does not use gears but moving pulleys transmitted by a belt; one is connected to the drive shaft, the other to the drive wheels. The two elements are connected via hydraulic couplings, and via the belt the ratios can vary continuously on the basis of the engine revolutions. So the CVT gearbox manages to make the engine always work at the point of maximum efficiency, with low consumption and high comfort, and also an exceptional engine performance. However, they have a huge flaw, which makes them sound like a scooter gearbox, and customers don't like that noise that comes from the gearbox; therefore manufacturers make gearboxes that simulate ratios, modulating the distance of the pulley components, so as to pretend that there are actually ratios, as in a normal gearbox. The brands that use this type of gearbox are mostly Japanese: Subaru, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, but also Renault. They are excellent in terms of cost, speed and comfort, but unfortunately there is very little regarding the enjoyment of the driver.

Where are the fuses of the Volvo FH located?

All the fuses of the Volvo FH are located inside the fuse box located in the vehicle cabin: in order to access the box it will be necessary to unhook the internal fixing clips that block the panel in the upper part of the dashboard, along its entire length. extension. Once this panel has been removed, it will be possible to access the fuses and replace them if necessary: here it will be possible to identify the fuses that take care of the operation of the windshield wipers, the cigarette lighter, the headlights, etc. In the vehicle manual each fuse is indicated with its amperage.
