Choosing the right oil for your gearbox is a really difficult thing, but this video comes to our aid, giving us some useful advice: starting from motorcycles, two-stroke motorcycles use a different gearbox oil from four-stroke motorcycles, because two-strokes have a gearbox with a separate circuit, while four-strokes use engine oil. Furthermore, motorcycle oil is different from car oil, and those with a cardan transmission have a special one. For cars, on the other hand, it is necessary to distinguish between automatic and manual transmission; normally manual transmissions require a more viscous oil compared to an automatic transmission and then, each type of automatic transmission requires its specific oil: for the type with torque converter, for the continuously variable transmission (CVT), another one for those with dual clutch, which in turn are divided into "dry" and "wet" types. It is essential to consult the owner's manual and strictly adhere to what is indicated by the manufacturer.
