The Reason the Engine Oil Light Comes On

When you start the vehicle, the light comes on because the engine is not yet running, so the system is not under pressure. It should turn off as soon as the engine starts. If it comes on while you are driving, it is a serious warning because a lack of pressure in the circuit can cause severe damage to the engine. There may be a significant leak in the circuit, problems with the oil pump, or issues with the pressure sensor. If the light is flashing, it indicates the need for an oil change. You do not need to stop but should arrange for the change as soon as possible.
