What are the specifications of the oil, and how are they read?

In this video, we can learn how to read the specifications of motor oil. These are divided into three classes: the API class (American Petroleum Institute); ACEA, which is the same thing but for the European market; and then we have the manufacturer's specifications. Let's look at the characteristics of API, where the first letter identifies the type of engine: S= gasoline; C= diesel; G= transmission. The same applies to ACEA: A= gasoline; B= diesel; C= with exhaust gas treatment. After these letters, both API and ACEA indicate specific specifications to which they refer, which for API are other letters, while for ACEA they are numbers: So where do we find the price difference if they all adhere to these specifications? The lower-priced ones meet the required specifications for a few seconds, while the more expensive ones meet the declared specifications for longer periods.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
