The following steps will show us how to open the engine hood of the Volkswagen Polo, following the instructions below. First, we open the front door of the car and start pulling the lever we find at the bottom, releasing the engine hood lock; we move to the front to release the latch pin located between the engine hood and the bumper grille, as shown in the video. At this point, we lift the hood held by the hydraulic piston (or we fix the rod to lock it); finally, we lower the engine hood to close it properly.
