How to Change the Engine Oil Filter on a Volkswagen Polo

To replace the oil filter on a Volkswagen Polo, safely lift the car to work from underneath. Place a container under the oil sump and unscrew the drain plug to empty all the used lubricant. Once the draining is complete, locate the oil filter on the engine and remove it using an appropriate tool or manually if possible. Before installing the new filter, clean the contact surface thoroughly and apply a thin layer of oil to the seal to ensure a proper seal. Screw on the new filter until it is snug without overtightening. Refit the sump plug, lower the vehicle, and pour in the new oil through the upper filler. Start the engine for a moment, check for leaks, and verify the oil level with the dipstick, adding more if necessary.
