How to Remove the Hazard Light Switch on the Volkswagen Golf IV

Let's see how to remove the hazard light switch on the Volkswagen Golf MK4: this is a simple and quick task, there is no need to dismantle the dashboard or disconnect the battery. On either side of the hazard button, there are two plastic blanking plugs. Insert a small flat screwdriver (or a plastic tool to avoid scratching) into the side slot. Pry gently outwards and the two plugs will come out easily. At this point, you will have two holes where you can insert your fingers. You will feel the two plastic clips that hold the switch in place in the dashboard; push the clips outwards (or slightly downwards, depending on the model). While holding the clips unlocked, pull the switch towards you. At the back, you will find an electrical connector: pull it away and now the switch is completely removed.
