This guide provides instructions to remove a broken key from the ignition cylinder and how to replace the entire ignition lock of the Volkswagen Jetta. First, get into the vehicle and start by removing the plastic cover located behind the steering wheel; then remove the airbag and subsequently the steering wheel, disconnecting the electrical connector of the ignition lock and removing the pin to take it out. In case of a broken key, it will be necessary to open the ignition cylinder, replacing it with either a new original one; in this case, the key will also need to be replaced.
