How to Change the Front Brake Pads on a Volkswagen Golf

To replace the front brake pads on a Volkswagen Golf 4, safely lift the vehicle and remove the affected wheel. Next, unscrew the bolts securing the brake caliper and lift it, supporting it without putting tension on the flexible hose. Remove the worn pads and clean the caliper contact surfaces. Using the appropriate tool, retract the caliper piston to create space for the new pads. Insert the new pads, reposition the caliper, and tighten the securing bolts to the specified torque. Finally, remount the wheel, lower the vehicle, and repeatedly press the brake pedal until the normal travel is restored, checking the correct operation of the system before resuming driving.
