How to Change the Spark Plugs on a Volkswagen Golf V Petrol

Let’s see how to change the spark plugs on a Volkswagen Golf V petrol. You can find the spark plugs on the auto-doc website, Bosch brand with EAN code IC-9DC48C at £4.99 each (£19.96 for 4 pieces) + £9.95 for shipping. Open the bonnet and remove the engine cover (disconnect the intake hose first). Unscrew the oil cap and cover it with a cloth to prevent dirt from falling in; release the ignition coils by pulling them upwards without disconnecting the wires. Use a 16 mm spark plug socket to unscrew the old spark plug: then insert the new one, screwing the first few turns by hand, and then tighten gently with the socket. Refit the coil by pushing it down until you hear the "click" of engagement. Repeat the process for the other 3 spark plugs. Carefully reposition the coil wiring harness in its housing, ensuring they are secured, remove the cloth, and reassemble the oil cap, reconnect the intake hose, and refit the engine cover. Close the bonnet.
