Replacing the Instrument Cluster on a VW Passat

Need to replace the instrument cluster on your VW Passat? Here’s how to do it. Use a lever to remove the plastic trim around the instrument cluster (without breaking the plastic clips) and detach it from the dashboard. Next, unscrew the retaining screws with a screwdriver. Disconnect the power terminals from the instrument cluster. After removing the instrument cluster from the dashboard, prepare to install a new unit or refit the original (repair the instrument cluster if necessary). Reconnect the power terminals and screw in the instrument cluster screws. Test the instrument cluster to ensure it works.
