How to Remove the Battery from VW Golf Key

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 6, Golf VI, Golf 6, 5K1 - Years 2008-2012

Is the remote not working? Not sure how to proceed? Let's see the process for the Golf key. Take your remote and press the release button of the metal key. Once the metal key pops out, use a screwdriver to pry between the two covers of the key (in the space where the metal key fits). Open the cover that conceals the battery, then extract the battery with a small screwdriver. Refit the two parts of the cover, press on the key case until you hear the locking click. Check the proper functioning of the remote by pressing the buttons. If it does not work, disassemble the key.
