Replacing the handle on a Volkswagen Golf 4? Let's look at how to remove the handle. Open the door of the car where you will remove the handle. Move the side seal, insert a screwdriver into the gap on the door, and unscrew the retaining screw (side panel). Use a plastic lever to remove the left part of the handle. Pull the handle out from the car's body, compare it with the new handle, and prepare for installation. Insert the new handle (with the lock if it's the front door) into the door and cover it. Test the correct installation and operation by manually operating the handle.
