How to Remove the Fuel Pump from a Golf 4 Tank

What to do if the car has issues with the fuel pump? Here’s how to remove it from inside the car's tank. Remove the rear seat cushions and locate the access to the tank. Unscrew the securing screws of the metal cap using a socket wrench, remove it from its housing, and use absorbent paper around the perimeter to soak up any fluid leaks. Unscrew the large nut that secures the fuel pump with a chisel, disconnect the power terminals and the liquid circulation tubes. Extract the fuel pump assembly from its housing along with the attached components. Install a new pump as the old one was found.
