Replacing the Ignition Switch

Model: Volkswagen Maggiolino MK 1 - Years 1938-1980

To replace the ignition switch, you need to remove the steering wheel and the entire housing with the controls of the indicator stalk; then remove the plastic covers around the key switch and locate the hole on the side where a piece of stiff wire must be inserted to press the retaining tab of the switch and extract it. At this point, insert the new switch, orienting the retaining tab towards its respective seat. Once inserted, the tab will click, and the switch will be secured. Then remove the complete housing of the switch to access the electrical block of the ignition contacts and replace it.
