Transmission Drive Shaft Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

The necessary tools are a ratchet spanner, a set of fixed spanners, a puller, and various pliers. Lift the car on a ramp and remove the wheels to access the mechanics. Once the faulty steering transmission is identified, proceed with removal by taking it off the support, unscrewing all the bolts, and extracting the pins from the steering assembly. Use the puller and a pin to push the bolts out of their seats after thoroughly spraying them with penetrating oil. Remove the arms from the wheel side by unscrewing the retaining nut. Taking care not to damage the rubber boot, insert the new assembly into its seat. Refit the arm and the rest of the previously removed mechanics.
