How to Remove the Steering Wheel Airbag on VW Polo

Model: Volkswagen Polo MK IV, Polo IV, Polo 4, MK 4, 9N - Years 2001-2009

Want to remove the steering wheel airbag from the Polo? Let's go through the airbag removal process. Enter the vehicle, remove the inspection caps at the back of the steering wheel (if present), then, use a screwdriver to release the retaining clips of the airbag cover (rear side). Once the airbag is released (driver's side), disconnect the power connectors and extract it from the steering wheel. For refitting the airbag: connect the power connectors, then press the airbag with your hands until the clips engage with the steering wheel. Test the operation of the components.
