How to Remove the Boot Lock Cylinder on a Volkswagen Polo

Model: Volkswagen Lupo MK 1 - Years 1998-2005

Before you can start, open the tailgate of the boot of your Volkswagen Polo. Begin by unscrewing and removing the screws that secure the tailgate panel, then unclip and remove the tailgate panel itself. This will give you access to the inside of the lock. Next, disconnect the relevant electrical connectors. At this point, unscrew and remove the Torx screws that secure the boot release handle, then gently pull it out and unclip the discovered clip. Once you have completed this step, you can remove the lock cylinder, and you will have finished the disassembly.
