Replacement of Remote Key Shells

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010

Press the button to release the metal key (commonly referred to as the "blade"): in the central area of the key, you will notice the dividing line of the two shells. Use a small screwdriver to pry apart the rear from the front. The rear part, which contains the buttons, houses the electronic circuit of the remote: separate the two shells to extract the battery and the circuit board. Repeat the disassembly steps on the new remote key to insert the circuit board and battery into the rear shell, then close the shells. Now proceed to remove the blade from the front of the remote: unscrew the small screw that holds the shells together, carefully separate them while paying attention to the preload of the spring that guides the key's release and the transponder capsule. Open the new remote to remove the unprogrammed blade and insert the original programmed blade along with the capsule. Attach the spring to the upper shell, rotate it to preload the spring, and finally fit it to the other shell. At this point, reassemble the two parts of the remote key.
