How to Remove the Door Handle and Lock on a Polo

Model: Volkswagen Polo Polo 5, Polo V, MK 5, MK V, 6R - Years 2009-2017

This guide shows how to disassemble the external handle of the Polo along with the door cover panel. Disconnect the battery terminals located in the engine bay. Open the car door, and using a lever, remove the plastic cover of the large internal handle: unscrew the securing screws located inside, and unscrew the screws on the side of the door. Detach the door panel, disconnect any power connectors and release cables. Once the cover panel is removed, unscrew the securing screws of the handle and the lock (external cylinder).
