Removing the Rear Door Lock from a Polo

Model: Volkswagen Polo MK IV, Polo IV, Polo 4, MK 4, 9N - Years 2001-2009

How do you remove the lock from a Polo with a stuck door? To access the lock, you need to remove the door panel. Enter the vehicle, unscrew the securing screws in the handle on the door panel, remove the window winding handle from the door panel, then use a lever to detach the covering panel. Unscrew the securing screws from above the door cover, disconnect the opening lever cable. Unscrew the securing screws and extract the lock (disconnect the electrical connectors). Pull the lock out from inside the car door. Open the car door, fit the new lock and screw in the screws.
