How to Replace the Fuel Pump on a Volkswagen Golf

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Fuel pump

Before you can start, open the rear doors of your Volkswagen Golf. Begin by unscrewing and removing the bolts that secure the rear seat bench, then remove the bench itself. Next, move the fabric cover of the fuel pump, then unscrew and remove the screws that secure the cover. Once done, remove the cover to access the fuel pump. Proceed to disconnect the hoses and the electrical connector attached to the pump. At this point, unscrew the ring that secures the fuel pump to its housing, then extract and remove the pump itself to complete the disassembly. To install the new fuel pump, simply follow these steps in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
