In this guide, you will see the steps to replace the remote key battery in a Volkswagen Passat B8. The process is very simple and requires no special tools. First, pull out the metal key by pressing the release button, then insert a small flathead screwdriver into the designated slot and gently twist it to detach the battery cover.

At this point, you can remove the old battery and insert a new one with the code CR2032. Remember to position it with the correct polarity. Reattach the cover and finally reinsert the metal key.
