If you own a Volkswagen Passat and want to learn how to correctly replace the key battery, read this mini guide carefully. First, press the metal button located at the top of the cover to release the emergency key. Next, disassemble the key and remove the rear cover with your hands. Finally, take out the button battery (you can use a flat screwdriver to assist) and proceed to install the new battery. Reassemble the entire key correctly, and you are done.
