This guide shows how to remove the driver's airbag from the Volkswagen Passat B7. The first step is to remove the two plastic finishing caps from the steering column. Turn the steering wheel to expose a gap at the back, allowing you to rotate the metal tab; perform the same operation on the other side.

At this point, by leveraging the airbag, you can extract the entire assembly; be careful with the connector. Disconnect the electrical cable and remove the airbag.

Reassemble this unit in the same way as disassembly. Ensure the control cable is properly reconnected.

Use a diagnostic device to check the system's functionality.
