Removing Airbag from Volkswagen Polo

Model: Volkswagen Polo Polo 5, Polo V, MK 5, MK V, 6R - Years 2009-2017

Remove the plastic cover located behind the steering wheel, which, as you will see in the video, is simply clipped in with plastic hooks. Use a plastic lever or a small flat screwdriver if needed. Turn the steering wheel 90 degrees and press the first of the two tabs holding the airbag in place. Then turn the steering wheel 180 degrees in the opposite direction and press the other tab. At this point, the airbag will be dislodged from its position, coming out of the steering wheel. Disconnect the various cables and connectors attached and remove it completely. To refit it, simply push it back into place, ensuring the tabs click in.
