To replace the air recirculation motor on a Volkswagen Golf 5, open the glove compartment and completely remove it by loosening the screws that secure it in its housing. After removing the glove compartment, detach the retaining clips of some dashboard pieces to access the components underneath.

Here you will find the air recirculation motor, which can be removed by disconnecting its connectors and loosening the fixing screws. After replacement, refit the glove compartment and the dashboard covers.
