Key Battery Replacement on a Volkswagen Touareg

Model: Volkswagen Touareg MK 2, 7P - Years 2010-2018

Start by moving the small metal clip on the key casing, as shown in the video, and then pull it out by hand. You now have access to the small hole underneath: insert any sharp tool that is fine enough to fit into this hole. Apply pressure inside to release the small side cover and remove it. At this point, you can access the compartment where the battery is located: if you cannot do it by hand, use a small tool, such as a flat screwdriver. Simply replace the battery and proceed in reverse for reassembly.
