Instructions for Replacing the Catalytic Converter

Model: Volkswagen New Beetle MK 2, 9C - Years 1999-2012

Replacing the catalytic converter is generally necessary for vehicles that drive on snowy roads during the winter, where salt is spread, causing corrosion of many underbody elements. It is recommended to carry out this maintenance with the engine completely cold; then lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift, disconnect the sensor connectors, remove the protective covers, unscrew the fixing pins of the flange on the exhaust manifold, and those of the intermediate coupling hose. Then remove the catalytic converter, transfer the sensors to the new one, insert the new gasket on the manifold flange, and install the new catalytic converter.
