Seizure of the Engine Crankshaft Bearings

If you notice a sort of knocking and vibration coming from the engine during acceleration, it is likely a sign of impending seizure of the crankshaft bearings due to poor lubrication. To check this, you will need to remove the oil sump: start by draining the engine oil, then remove all the fastening pins of the sump around its perimeter. You will then need to pry along the edge to detach it. Once the sump is removed, unscrew the fastening pins of the connecting rod cap, which houses the bearing, to assess its condition. It is also important to check that the poor lubrication has not damaged the turbine: disconnect the hose and inspect the impeller.
