How to Replace the Key Fob Batteries on a Volkswagen Polo

To replace the batteries in the key fob of a Volkswagen Polo, start by inserting a small flathead screwdriver into the slot at the top where the badge is, prying it open from the key. Once the key is removed, use the same screwdriver to pry open the side slots of the fob. After opening the fob, remove the top battery with the small screwdriver, take out the retaining plate, and remove the second battery using the same screwdriver. Once the batteries are out, take the new batteries (code CR2016) and insert them in the same way as the previous batteries, placing the retaining plate between the two batteries. After inserting the batteries, snap the two parts of the fob back together and reinsert the key. Finally, test the new batteries to ensure they work.
