How to Replace the Glow Plugs on a Volkswagen Golf Mk5 2.0 TDI?

This guide shows how to replace the glow plugs in the engine of a Volkswagen Golf Mk5 2.0 TDI. First, secure the vehicle and access the engine bay. Then, move the hydraulic hoses that pass over the engine and unscrew the fixing screws of the rocker cover. Remove the screws and take off the cover. Using needle-nose pliers, disconnect the connectors of the glow plugs; take care not to damage the electrical wire. Using a 8 mm socket wrench, unscrew the glow plugs; extract them with the pliers. Check the length of the new glow plugs and proceed with the installation. Insert the glow plug onto a rubber tube to help place it in the correct hole; lubricate the thread slightly and insert it into the housing. Tighten the glow plugs with a torque wrench set to 15 Nm. Reconnect the electrical connectors and replace the rocker cover. Reassemble all parts and check the engine's correct operation.
