Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial
Model: Volkswagen Golf
Golf 5, MK 5, Golf V
- Years 2003-2008 The guide shows how to replace the Volkswagen Golf Mk5 2.0 tdi engine glow plugs. The first step is to secure the vehicle and access the engine compartment. At this point, it is necessary to move aside the hydraulic pipes that pass over the engine and unscrew the screws fixing the tappet cover. Unscrew the fixing screws of this element and remove it. With fine needle nose pliers, disconnect the glow plug connectors; be careful not to damage the electric cable. Using an 8 mm socket wrench with articulated head, unscrew the glow plugs; remove them with pliers. Check the length of the new glow plugs and proceed with assembly. Insert the glow plug on a rubber tube to be able to insert it in the correct hole; grease the thread a little and insert it into the housing. Tighten the glow plugs with a torque wrench set to 15 N m. Reconnect the electrical connectors and close the tappet cover. Reassemble all the parts and check the correct functioning of the engine.
