How to Remove the Water Pump from a Volkswagen Golf 4?

To remove the water pump from a Volkswagen Golf 4, first open the bonnet to access the engine bay and remove the cover from the side of the engine. Once this is removed, you will have access to the pulleys and the belt underneath: by loosening the central bolts of the tensioner and the pulleys, you can remove all these components, gaining access to the water pump. The water pump must be removed from its housing by loosening its fixing screws; after removal, you can replace it with a new spare part.
