Resetting the Inspection Notification on the Volkswagen Golf

If you have replaced the engine oil and the corresponding filter on this vehicle, you must then proceed to update and reset the service light that has illuminated on the dashboard. The following description provides instructions on how to proceed, and you can also watch the video. After sitting in the driver's seat, locate the button positioned at the centre of the lower part of the instrument cluster and press it, holding it down. Then, turn on the ignition. The display will show a prompt to confirm the service reset, so release the button and press it again to confirm, after which the indicator will turn off.
