Alternator Removal Instructions

Model: Volkswagen New Beetle MK 2, 9C - Years 1999-2012
Part: Alternator

The alternator is located at the front left of the engine bay (when facing the front): to remove it, first disconnect the battery. Then loosen the auxiliary belt tensioner to free the alternator pulley. Proceed to remove the alternator's mounting bolts, and once extracted from its housing, detach the nuts securing the connected cables. Once the alternator is on the bench, remove the threaded bushes to fit them onto the new alternator, then reverse the process for installation (consider installing a refurbished product).
