The first symptom of a loss of the passenger compartment heating radiator is the fogging of the windscreen as well as the lowering of the coolant in the radiator tank: to be able to replace it, the dashboard must be practically removed. For this reason many prefer to bypass the radiator by joining the inlet and outlet pipes. If you really want to try your hand at it, start by disconnecting the battery; then move to the passenger compartment and start removing the dashboard elements including the steering wheel, the instrument panel and the buttons on the center console; continue with the disassembly of the central tunnel, the passenger side storage compartment and the ventilation outlets; then unscrew the pins fixing the dashboard to the car chassis (some are located in the engine compartment); remove the dashboard and remove the air conveyors; unscrew the fixing pins of the dashboard sub-frame, disconnect the various tubes, the sockets, the air deflector cables and extract the conveyor unit separating it from the ventilation fan unit. It is therefore now possible to extract the radiator and install the new one: all this work for a replacement for a few euros!
